I realise it's been a while since Christmas but I took this series of shots around Christmas time when it was all snowy and I felt that the title suited the image.

Not a great deal of editing except the black and white background. I don't think it counts as a manipulation anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any helpful comments and criticisms are very much appreciated. Hope you enjoy the image. More from this series to come soon hopefully.

brilliant!!!! this angle was absolutely flawless. i can tell exactly what you were going for here. the beauty is subtle , but still....obvious. this piece is amazing. i am astounded, the lighting was perfect. and the cage really contributes to the mood. *chills run up my spine*

i am highly inspired.

if i had edited this the only thing i would have changed would be the hair, i would have kept it totally black and white. But the color does give it something...

excellent artwork. i hope my input is helpful.
this is the most beautiful thing i've seen in quite i while.

Came back to this via 'Melt'. Nice shot. I had wondered if the empty cage implied you, as caged in the room, would like to be outside despite the cold.

Thank you, this is one of my favourite shots actually but I can't remember what I was trying to symbolise with the cage and the pose. You could well be right :P

My random interpretation! Despite the dangers and very real threats of the world beyond and your inadequate, sheltered protection against it (high heels and light clothing in falling snow and a cold winter?), the subject would rather brave the world-- live and learn, even if it's painful and messy at the start-- rather than stay swaddled in a familiar cage.
